These pictures are being sent after our departure - it has hard to believe now that we have been working in such warm conditions in Egypt, with the temperature in Germany now being so cold! These are just a few images to wrap up this season’s report and although we are no longer in the field, the work continues. The drill core team on the last day of work at Kom el-Ahmar
Work in the field finished on Wednesday with a final burrima (drill core) at Kom el-Ahmar. Both Thursday and Friday have been spent writing the report for the end of the season as well as preparing papers ready for the 2011 seasons! There is also much packing to do – sorting out which piles of materials stay at Quesna in the store room...

It has been a busy few days with a couple of trips to Cairo included for a number of administrative tasks and the more pleasant mission of meeting with colleagues. Before this, we completed the backfilling of T5 up at Quesna on Wednesday 15th September, and on the Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th also completed the sorting and recording of all finds made during the 2010 season and then ensured...
Back at work after the Eid
Tuesday 14th September 2010 Having spent a relaxing few days down south, we returned to Shibin el-Kom yesterday afternoon to prepare ourselves for the last two weeks of the season. Our train ride took a laborious 13 hours - but we all enjoyed the feast and felt refreshed upon our return! Today saw the start of preparations for the backfilling of the trench.
